Why choose Community Wellbeing?
Trauma Informed
As a professional Social Worker, trauma is seen as a key component. With experience in providing true trauma informed practice to all. From working with individuals and communities recovering from bushfires and floods, to those who have experienced childhood trauma and abuse. Amelia is aware of the impacts of trauma and the need for deep listening, accountability to and respect for those who trust her with holding the healing space.
Lived Experience
Amelia has experience of overcoming trauma and obstacles. As a therapist, this enables her to have unique insight into how others may experience the healing journey. From experiences in the education and health system to alternative and complimentary care providers, Amelia has seen and tried it all! Her awareness of power imbalances between the client and practitioner assists her to truly empower the people she works with.
Neurodivergent-Affirming
We celebrate all neurotypes and use neurodivergent affirming practices. We are for the quirky, cool, fluid, non-conforming and creative. As a neurodivergent herself, Amelia is understanding and passionate about helping people feel safe to be their unique selves, build confidence, and self-esteem, find their passions and follow their dreams. All services are tailored to clients unique strengths, interests and passions.
Experience & Expertise
Amelia has over 20 years of experience working with individuals, families, communities and groups. She then went on to assist women after domestic abuse and did further study in holistic modalities and a double degree in Human Services and Social Work.
What people are saying
Cass
I will always be grateful for your time and nurturing goddess support Amelia. As well as the support of the other women in the group. As a single mumma it can be lonely and the darkness takes over. The women’s circle was my sunshine.
Natasha
